Description
This bird just took a sip from a hummingbird feeder, directly above him, and is about to fly away. The pose is unusual because he's doing the side-stroke, that is, he's horizontal with one side down. Hummingbirds can even fly upside-down or backwards, so it is not a rare shot. I like the good depth of field, and the overall sharpness from the high speed flash, but particularly I enjoy the single iridescent gorget feather. In rare cases, this might be an older female bird.
