Description
This is a male broadbill hummingbird in a nicce sharp photo with good depth of field. It was taken in Madera Canyon south of Tuscon, and near Green Valley, Arizona. You can see his eyelashes wuite clearly, and lots of feather detail, as will as the tip of his tongue, and a drop of nectar on his cheek. He was attracted to a hummingbird feeder where he has already fed, which is just out of frame below the photo. He's in his characteristic "rest" position that he takes between sips, because there is no perch on the feeder, so that my model has to work for his lunch by posing nicely in-between sips.
