Description
A broadbill hummingbird is flying to his next meal. The azalea is from a different photo, digitally composited. This bird was photographed in Madera Canyon, near Green Valley and Tucson Arizona. The azalea lives in my yard in Georgia.
Hummingbirds will visit azaleas like this, though they are not the tubular red flowers favored by hummingbirds, because they find insects in the azaleas, and they will check out anything red. I don't think that azaleas are indigenous to the areas where these birds range, however.
