Very Horizontal Broadbill Hummingbird Canvas Print

This is an unusually horizontal pose of this male broadbilled hummingbird. He may be about to tuck his chin and descend to use the nectar feeder, which is immediately below, or he may be about to take evasive flight because he hears my camera click.

My mother was an artist, and on school holidays, when she had classes at the art museum, I got to spend entire days roaming the galleries of the Cincinnati Art Museum. My twin sister is an artist, and my father took up photography about the time I did, when I was in college.
