I'm a photographer, though sometimes I experiment in other media. My mother was an artist, and on school holidays, when she had classes at the art museum, I got to spend entire days roaming the galleries of the Cincinnati Art Museum. My twin sister is an artist, and my father took up photography about the time I did, when I was in college. I'm also a former machine tool programmer, database analyst, and mathematics and physics teacher, and those things undoubtedly have impact on my perceptions as well, as do my Christian perspective and philosophy. Thanks for your comments. This species, the broad-billed hummingbird, is the one I personally consider the most photogenic in the USA. To make it even better, he's iridescent in virtually any light and at virtually any angle, and over more of his body than other species. I enjoyed my experiment with compositing a digital painting flower with the bird itself.

Beautiful colors on this stunning image, Gregory! The hummingbirds here in California are pretty, but not nearly as much as the gorgeous one in your photo. Great composition!
