Artist's Description

Lower Antelope Canyon, east of Page Arizona. This is one of two slot canyons near the Navajo Nation power plant. I prefer this one, because you can stay all day, and don't have to stay with a tour.

Oh, about the "Chisel" in the title: It's the gravel, sand and rocks carried in flood waters that chisels the canyon. Since the gravel, sand and rocks are prominent in this image, I thought it would be good to give them the recognition they deserve, as the tools of the artist who created this canyon.

My mother was an artist, and on school holidays, when she had classes at the art museum, I got to spend entire days roaming the galleries of the Cincinnati Art Museum. My twin sister is an artist, and my father took up photography about the time I did, when I was in college. I'm also a former machine tool programmer, database analyst, and mathematics and physics teacher, and those things undoubtedly have impact on my perceptions as well, as do my Christian perspective and philosophy.
