This photograph is a high resolution stitched panorama of the George Pitt House in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. It contains very small details, right down to the nails in the wood siding, textures of the wood and stone and paint, and so on. The shutters are functional, rather than decorative, and have interesting wrought iron latches. The foundation and chimneys are red brick, and there is a cellar door in front of the house, which is a little unusual, since these are often in the rear. The steps of the front entrance are cast concrete, connected in an unusual manner with iron straps. The eaves are decorated with a dental motief, farther elaborated with milled trim. The shingles are made from a composite material, made to appear like natural wood shingles.
