Description
This blue throated hummingbird pose makes me think of the old cloak and dagger pose, or perhaps a humming vampire as played by Vincent Price. Anyway, this is one of my all-time favorite poses. Taken at Cave Creek, near Portal, Arizona.

I have persistence, determination, and the good fortune to have been able to travel to the right places and the time and equipment to do the job. Yes, each of those IS a gift! Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while. I shot thousands of shots. A few come out well.

Well, I'm not surprised, since hummingbirds are only native to north and south america. Bee Eaters are probably the most similar birds in the rest of the world.
