Artist's Description

This is the White Eared Hummingbird, most easily distinguished from the more common Broadbill by the large white streak next to the eye. The color is enhanced in this digital image, which is different from most of my images also by the fact that it is illuminate by both natural (ambient) light, and the flash. As a result, you have a nice background, but you also have just a little ghosting. Note the "shadow" on the front side of the bird caused by the bird moving forward after the flash, and also the diagonal shadow behind the birds tail, which is a ghost image of the tail position after the flash finished firing.

These ghosts don't detract from the image, by any means, I'm just telling you about them in case strange things start happening around your house after you order this print.

The digital enhancements were done using Photoshop and Topaz Simplify, and Topaz Adjust.
