This is a Violet Crowned Hummingbird in level flight. He was photographed at Sonoita Creek Nature Preserve and Park, Patagonia, AZ using high speed flash. The image was softened digitally using Topaz filters in Photoshop.

My mother was an artist, and on school holidays, when she had classes at the art museum, I got to spend entire days roaming the galleries of the Cincinnati Art Museum.
