Lava boulders dot the mainly sandstone landscape at Capitol Reef National Park, just across Utah Highway 24. The clouds were amazing, though the arching shapes are an artifact of panorama wide-angle distortion. For the same reason, you see Hwy 24 westbound on the left, and Hwy 24 eastbound on the right, though it looks like they are going the same direction. Wide panorama photographs can be very interesting that way. You can literally meet yourself coming and going!

I'm a photographer, though sometimes I experiment in other media. My mother was an artist, and on school holidays, when she had classes at the art museum, I got to spend entire days roaming the galleries of the Cincinnati Art Museum. My twin sister is an artist, and my father took up photography about the time I did, when I was in college.
